This a game played by geniuses... but it's actually for the rest of us Wink

We take a word and alter it by adding one letter or changing one letter. The trick is to make the new word completely fake, but believable.

e.g. Godzilla [Tokyo-eating lizard] becomes: Goodzilla [Giant lizard that puts out forest fires]
    One letter is added here.

Hepatitus [Desease of the liver] becomes: Hipatitus [A desease that's cool to have]
    One letter is changed here.

This can get really funny so, since I'm playing with myself atm, I'll start. bounce

I'm just following the 'normal' rules. But this is our game so go ahead. ^^ As long as we're having fun I think it's A-okay!

So the does the word we choose to alter have to have anything to do with the words used in the previous post?

Nope, just take any word and change what it in essence represents. The changes must just make sense and be believable, if at all possible. It's more a game of being 'clever' as opposed to making new words randomly.

Literacy - The ability to read and write.
Litteracy - The ability to give birth to more than one child at a time.

Clever little changes that could be easily mistaken as real words. There really aren't any rules to it.

    ooh, fun Very Happy

Does it have to be just one letter, or could we play with the way a word sounds, too? Like, could we change Hypocrisy [pretending to be virtuous when one is really not] to Hippocrisy [pretending to be either a Greek philosopher (Hippocrates) or a very large mammal when one is really not]?

Well, in keeping with the rules above, here's one:
Insomniac: one who has trouble sleeping for some reason.
Inzombniac: one who has trouble sleeping, probably because one is a zombie and zombies don't sleep much.

Nuuuuu! Riv! Nuuu! Only one letter can be altered, otherwise it gets too easy. You're one of the best at words, let 'em flow Riv, let 'em flow.

Pontificate: To hold the office of the Pope and perform all duties related to said title.
Puntificate: To remove youngsters from a peice of property or lawn by causing the metatarsals to meet with the gluteus maximii (dunno spelling).
