    OK. I'll start a game. This is going to be very lengthy with details so be prepared.

    SETTING:


    Post-apocalyptic.
    A large meteor hit the Earth and dispersed massive amounts of radiation from a substance unknown to man. This substance caused major deformations to all Earth life - human, animal, plant, insect - everything. It also caused severe changes in the psyche and genetics of all that came into contact with it. It even began to deteriorate buildings. The only parts of buildings that were not destroyed by this substance however, were those made of wood. All wooden beams were left intact, but the concrete, steel, sheet rock and other parts were all worn away by the airborne substance.

    The city is named Retribution. (For obvious reasons, being a post-apocalyptic city)

    The city is actually what was once New York City, but nothing is recognizable, half the buildings are completely gone, those that remain are half destroyed. There is still animal life however it has been mutated by radiation, as well as half the human population. This will be explained in more detail in Characters section. Within the city are different territories belonging to different societies that have begun to co-exist upon the new Earth.

    There is no government besides that which the individual territories are beginning to choose as their own law, although nothing is set in stone. Life is lived in the 'survival of the fittest' frame of mind. Very little records have been kept of the history of the world. Those that have been saved belong to one society and are protected with the lives of those who live within it.

    A war is being waged between the Historians and the Neo Species. The Neo Species believe that their new, mutated way of life is much superior to the old ways of technology and record keeping, and are trying to prevent the Historians from rebuilding the old world. It is greatly feared that the Historians will become the final destruction of the entire planet if technology is restored across the entire planet as it was before the apocalypse. It is unknown if such a thing will really happen, but the Neo Species aims to keep it from happening regardless.


    CHARACTERS:
    (You may cross class but have no more than two classes.)


    Historians
    The Historians are normal humans. (Normal in the way we would consider normal nowadays.) These are highly intellectual people who survived the apocalypse by hiding underground in a government military facility that was designed as a facility to build weapons of mass destruction. When the government found out that the meteor was on the way, they cleared it out and chose the most intelligent people in the world to be saved. They cached food to last for years. They brought in soil to create vegetable gardens, and brought in a few farm animals to breed for meat. Everything was rationed carefully and grown carefully so that they could survive for any amount of time. The people that stayed there were engineers, scientists, doctors, political leaders and of course all of these important people's families.

    Every so often they would send someone to the surface to see if the strange radiation had gone away. Every time someone would return a different person, and they were banished to live amongst the other mutated beings. Decades later, a man was finally able to return as his normal self, proclaiming that the air was normal again. Since then, the Historians have been making preparations to rebuild society, of course making themselves known to the Neo Species.

    Historian Sub-classes: Engineer, Doctor, Scientist, Politician, Grunt, Weapons Specialist

    Engineer: Able to make almost anything that involves construction and mechanics. Very intelligent, though usually very unclean.

    Doctor: (Speaks for itself.) A Doctor who cross-classes as a Scientist is able to create new medicines and forms of treatment as well as medical tools.

    Scientist: Discoverers, seekers of truth, experts with chemicals. If cross classed with engineer or weapons specialist is also able to use and create weapons or mechanical gadgets to fight with (or to pretty much do anything that would be allowed by each class.)

    Politician: Squishy, but in power and able to command small armies. Politicians have command over most Historian classes, except the Grunts (they don't listen to anyone) and other Politicians. A Politician CANNOT cross class with a Grunt. In general the politician class is posh and squishy and would not dream of cross classing at all. Those who do are extremely rare and must have some burning goal to cause them to take any action aside from governing.

    Grunt: Expert in hand to hand combat, very strong and usually has authority issues. Very much anti political, a Grunt would love to kill a Politician. Most Grunts are rogues and are tempted to cross over to live with the Neo Species, but none have yet because of the comfy lifestyle with the Historians.

    Weapons Specialist: (Speaks for itself.) If cross-classed with scientist, is able to design almost any kind of military weapon, explosive substance, etc...


    Neo Species
    The Neo Species are descended from those who were not underground at the time of the meteor strike. They are mutated in various forms. Some are mostly normal in appearance with slight alterations to their facial features (distortions in eye, nose, mouth, ears - primarily eyes) and others are disfigured in all sorts of imaginable ways. (Get creative, pretty much anything goes.) Regardless of appearance each of the Neo Species has some kind of ability that is based on their personal genetic code.

    Neo Species Sub-classes: Visionary, Psychic Warrior, Brawler, Adventurer, Healer, Rogue

    Visionary: Prophet. Able to see into the future. Though none have seen more that 1 year into the future.

    Psychic Warrior: Able to use various forms of mental abilities such as telepathy, telekinesis, pyrokinesis etc... (Psychic warriors like all the other classes are allowed to cross class, however, you may not have more than one psychic ability that is offensive if you cross class. Example: A Psychic Warrior cross classed as a Healer may have telekinesis and psychic healing abilities. However if you do not cross class, a Psychic Warrior may have both telekinesis and pyrokinesis.)


    Brawler: Mutated to a serious degree, so much so that their bodies have become grossly masculine and their strength is unfathomable.

    Adventurer: Most adventurers also have some form of mental ability, they simply choose not to use their abilities to aide in the war. Adventurers seek other survivors and choose to live their life traveling The Wilds to see what they can see.

    Healer: Heals with both psychic abilities and medical practice that was handed down from those who worked in medicine that were not below ground during the apocalypse.

    Rogue: Unfortunately most rogues have psychic abilities as well, but they use them against their fellow Neo Species because they simply don't care. They've been robbed of emotion during their physical and mental evolution and have chosen to simply live only for themselves, taking anything they can get from anyone, including other Rogues. They are flat out cut throats and there is no reasoning with a Rogues.

    TERRITORIES:


    Underground Base - Political society of the Historians. (Speaks for itself.)

    Ground Zero Base - Secondary society of the Historians. This is where the 'lower class' civilians have been moved to since the discovery that it was safe to go above ground.

    The Brink - Central society of the Neo Species. This is where those who wish to be civil live a life that is organized, but still in harmony with the Earth.

    The Grunge- The secondary society of the Neo Species. This is where those who wish to fend for themselves without community assistance live their live the way they choose. This is where most Rogues live. There are few others who are brave enough to live amongst the Rogues, but there are some Brawlers who are just a little crazy...

    The Wilds - The wild land that is filled with all kinds of mutated creatures and plant life. There are those who have left to travel the wilds to find other human life, and there are those who have been banished by a society to fend for themselves. There may be humans out there who have been so mutated that they can barely be recognized as humans, and have no language that can be understood by those who still speak the old tongue. (Such characters are NPC's only, please do not ask to play one of these.)

    Retribution RPG Empty I deleted the two posts that were here because I've since learned how an RPG is supposed to work and since this story hasn't really gotten started yet, lets start fresh.

    Ariah sits in the town center of The Brink, making a braided grass bracelet, and levitating herself about a foot above the ground. She thinks to herself that it has been too quiet lately and wishes that something exciting would happen.
